Legal Aid will be hosting FREE virtual provider trainings in April and May
All participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion. For each of the May sessions, application for 1 hour of free CEU credit is pending. Please click the links below for details and to complete your zoom registration.

Training and Know Your Rights Presentations are offered by Legal Aid
Legal Aid provides trainings to providers and Know Your Rights presentations to community groups on a variety of topics. If you are interested in hosting a group presentation, please send requests to outreach@lasclev.org and give as much information and notice as possible.

SCORE Cleveland offers mentors
Small business owners, or aspiring owners, are encouraged to seek help from SCORE mentors. The volunteer mentors are local experts that are ready to help entrepreneurs in Northeast Ohio build their businesses to their fullest potential. Visit their website to learn more and request a mentor.

Updated opportunities for expungement and record sealing for Ohioans
Ohio’s new law expanding opportunities for expungement and record sealing is now in effect. The Ohio Justice & Policy Center has developed a guide on record sealing for adults who may be affected by this change. Access the PDF guide here. Legal Aid can help eligible applicants apply to seal or expunge their records.

Fair Housing for those with a criminal record
The Fair Housing Center has launched a new digital toolkit on Fair Housing for People with Criminal Record. Access the digital toolkit here.

Reentry Week Events coming up - April 23-29
Legal Aid is proud to help promote and lead events to honor National Reentry Week - April 23-29. A flyer with details of local Reentry Week events is available from The Cuyahoga County Office of Reentry.

Join Legal Aid on Wednesday, April 26 at 9:00 AM for the People’s Reentry Assembly at Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry - a conversation with local stakeholders to discuss barriers to reentry, the trauma associated with it, and policy solutions from other communities.

During Reentry Week, we focus efforts on individuals who need assistance matriculating back into society and the burdens that come with it. Below is a list of reentry/citizen circle groups around Northeast Ohio.

Ashtabula:
Ashtabula Citizen Circle meets at the Ashtabula Library monthly. The Ashtabula Reentry Coalition also meets monthly. For Ashtabula Reentry Services please contact Alice Harden at 440-992-2121.

Geauga:
Geauga Citizens Circle meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at noon in various locations around the county. Call 440-279-1339 for an appointment. The Geauga Reentry Coalition meets monthly. For Geauga County Reentry Services please contact Erin Mooneesawmy at 440-279-1339.

Lake:
Lake County Citizen Circle meets at Lifeline in Painesville on the first Wednesday of the month at 10:30 AM. The Lake County Reentry Coalition meets before the Citizen Circle at 10:00 AM. For Lake County Reentry Services please contact Shelby Shields at 440-354-2148 x227.

Lorain:
For Lorain reentry services please contact Nikki Dertouzos at 216-410-5502.
