Planned Giving

A planned gift is a wonderful way to ensure that future generations will be able to access justice with the support of Legal Aid. Please consider leaving a bequest or other future gift as part of your estate planning. There are many ways to plan a gift to Legal Aid:

By Bequest

Planned giving to Legal Aid through your will allows you to maximize the charitable impact of your gift over time. You may also be able to secure financial advantages by making a planned gift. If you have already included Legal Aid in your will, please let us know by completing and returning our Bequest Intention Form - click here to access

If you would like to add Legal Aid as a beneficiary of your estate, see our Suggested Bequest Language - click here to access or get in touch to discuss options with our team or our estate planning agent.

Other Planned Gifts for Long-Term Impact

Gifts to Legal Aid may be made from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a qualified charitable rollover gift.  Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) information – click here to access

Gifts to the Legal Aid Endowment Fund – donations can be made through the Cleveland Foundation to support our endowment fund and ensure the long-term sustainability of our services.

Making a planned gift to Legal Aid is a very personal and special decision. Though you are under no obligation to provide Legal Aid with the details of any planned gift, we urge you to make sure your family is aware of your intention to leave a planned gift.

Letting us know about your planned gift means you’ll join Legal Aid’s 1905 Society and be recognized as a VIP supporter of the Legal Aid Society.

Membership in The 1905 Society through a planned gift to Legal Aid preserves Legal Aid's mission to secure justice, equity, and access to opportunity for and with people who have low incomes through passionate legal representation and advocacy for systemic change. Your planned gift of any amount will have a lasting impact for those in need in Northeast Ohio and your legacy will further our work towards equal access to justice for all.
