Legal Aid shared with community partners this week a series of important community updates:
- Important Notice about Tax Refund Delays.
- New rule from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development protects the right of transgender individuals to housing and services.
- Resources are available to help Medicaid / Child Health Insurance Program recipients apply for federal student aid.
- Save the Dream Ohio is back and provides financial assistance to prevent foreclosure in some circumstances to eligible homeowners.
- Medicare Premium Assistance stopped on December 13, 2016 for about 13,000 Ohioans unless individuals reapply and are found eligible
- People who are not fluent in English have a right to an interpreter in many places, and options to enforce those rights.
- Beware of recent utility scam!
