On November 25, The Marshall Project - Cleveland broke a news story about parking violations issued in the City of Lorain which led to driver's license suspensions and court fines and fees.

Among other findings, The Marshall Project investigation uncovered that of the 10 largest cities in Ohio, Lorain is the only one that suspends driver's licenses for a single unpaid parking violation. Since November 2024, court records show 1,155 citations were issued, and judges ordered 303 license suspensions.
