Cleveland.com, the online home of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports:  The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and volunteer attorneys offer free legal advice in response to the growing demand for legal assistance for low-income families.

The attorney will help with expungements, foreclosures and other housing problems, suspended driver's licenses, contracts, divorce, child support, public assistance, obtaining special education, employment and immigration issues. They can't help with criminal matters.

Get advice between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lorain County Community College's College Center, 1004 N. Abbe Road in Elyria, or between 9:45 and 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the West Side Catholic Center, 3135 Lorain Ave. in Cleveland.

Legal Aid has seen a 25 percent increase in client requests over the past two years, spokeswoman Melanie Shakarian said.
