Welfare recipients forced to repay benefits

Cleveland, OH --  The Plain Dealer reports today that welfare recipients in Ohio who were overpaid more than a decade ago are being asked to pay back the extra money.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services sent out nearly 22,000 notices in early November hoping to recover excessive welfare payments that in some cases date back more than 20 years.

Legal Aid's deputy director David Dawson is quoted in today's article.
