Legal Aid attorney elected to the board of Magnolia Clubhouse

Jennifer Kinsley Smith, Esq., Senior Attorney with Legal Aid's Medical Legal Partnership, has been elected to the board of directors of Magnolia Clubhouse.

Jenn joined The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland in 2018, where she primarily works to secure, restore, or maintain public benefits for clients living with mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses. In addition to her public benefits work, she assists clients with general civil legal issues, and is accredited by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs to assist with veteran’s benefit claims.

Jenn has been a presenter at the Midwest Medical Legal Partnership Conference, the ADAMHS Board Roads to Recovery Conference, and the National Medical Legal Partnership Summit regarding the behavioral health Medical Legal Partnership model. She was a recipient of the 2022 Legal Aid Leadership Award.

Jenn is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and she serves on the board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Lorain County. A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Jenn is also active on Ohio Northern's Claude W. Pettit College of Law Advisory Board.

Based in University Circle, Magnolia Clubhouse is a non-profit organization that offers a rehabilitative support program for adults who live with mental illness. The organization provides employment and education programs, a focus on healthy living, and social activities, while working to reduce the stigma of mental illness and advocating for improvements to the mental healthcare system.
