Our Town - a Benefit for Legal Aid

On October 22, 2021, a group of community members (including leaders from the Cleveland’s legal, business and arts sectors) joined together for a staged reading of Thornton Wilder's beloved play Our Town to raise funds and awareness for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.

Led by Jonathan Leiken, Diebold Nixdorf's Chief Legal Officer and Legal Aid trustee, with production assistance and a debut performance from Jon's son Jaren, a senior at University School, the evening was a celebration of the simple joys of life and the meaning of community, supporting Legal Aid's work to #ExtendJustice to those in need in Northeast Ohio.

The reading was directed by Kent, Ohio native Vincent J. Cardinal of the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theater and Dance, and featured Shaker Heights native Michelle Federer from the original Broadway cast of Wicked, who returned home to read the role of Emily.
