CHEERS . . . to the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority for trying to help young low-level ex-offenders clear their criminal or civil records, knocking down a barrier that keeps so many unemployed.
The federally-funded project provides a lawyer to help people under 25 who receive public housing subsidies get an expungement or restore a suspended driver's license. If it turns them into law-abiding workers, it will be well worth it.
