New rule broadly prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded health programs and promotes LGBT rights

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) confirmed that discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sex stereotyping are prohibited under Section 1557 of The Affordable Care Act.
