Lorain County residents with civil legal problems can talk to an attorney and get brief advice for free from 9:30-11:30 a.m., June 20, at El Centro, 2800 Pearl Ave.

“With 14.4 percent of Lorain residents and 29.9 percent of children living in poverty, it is important that all members of our community have the same access to and representation in the justice system,” said Jasmine Boutros, development and communications intern for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. During the drop-in clinic, lawyers will offer general advice, information and/or referrals to families who may not normally have access to the legal services they require, Boutros said. People will be seen by the lawyers on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Bring all your important paperwork,” Boutros said. “No criminal cases will be viewed, only civil matters.

“The attorneys will be available for brief advice and referral only and do not represent you. If you need legal representation, you may be referred to The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland or another service provider.”

For further information, call Boutros at 216-861-5500, ext. 3188 or via email.
