The OneOhio Recovery Foundation on Wednesday announced it had awarded more than $7.7 million in grants to support 36 projects for drug prevention, treatment and recovery efforts.

Among them were The Road to Hope, with locations in Lorain, Erie and Cuyahoga counties, for recovery housing for women with children, which received $650,000; Silver Maple Recovery, with locations in Lorain, Cleveland and Akron: $137,000 for Empowering Recovery, a recovery coach support service; and the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, which received $130,000 for improving access to justice for individuals with opioid use disorder who are in recovery through Legal Aid, which also serves Lorain County.

"Supporting these 36 projects today not only helps make progress now but also pays dividends down the road as Ohio works to turn the tide against addiction," OneOhio Executive Director Alisha Nelson said in a news release. "There is much more work to do but we're in this for the long haul and look forward to continuing to make impactful investments in evidence-based projects well into the future."

The grant awards were selected from 1,442 funding requests totaling $581 million from organizations statewide. The OneOhio Recovery Foundation’s Board of Directors also has given preliminary approval for more than 125 additional grant awards, the organization said.
