american academyAt the American Academy of Arts and Sciences forum in Cambridge, Massachusetts today - Legal Aid's Executive Director Colleen Cotter is part of the "Making Justice Accessible" symposium.

Colleen Cotter is the executive director of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. She began her career as a clerk for Justice Cornelia Kennedy on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and then went on to Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Maine as a Skadden Fellow. She has also worked for Indiana Legal Services as a senior staff attorney, then as director of the Indiana Justice Center, and finally as Director of Programs and Organizational Development. After leaving Indiana Legal Services, she worked as a consultant to legal services programs and state justice communities advising on management and planning issues. She currently serves as a board member at Saint Luke’s Foundation and is a member of the Cleveland Marshall College of Law Visiting Committee. She has previously served on the boards of the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the National Legal Aid and Defender Association, the Legal Service Corporation’s Data Project Advisory Committee, and the LSC Pro Bono Task Force.
