Legal Aid is Hiring

Student Loan Payments Resume
The payment pause on federal student loans is ending. Interest started accruing on federal student loans on September 1, 2023 and repayment starts again in October 2023. The resources on Legal Aid’s website have been updated accordingly. Learn more on our website.
In addition, borrowers should prepare for the start of repayment by reviewing this checklist on the Federal Student Aid website: Repayment Checklist for Borrowers (ed.gov).
Community Conversation on Debt-Related Driver's License Suspensions - October 17
It is estimated that at least 11 million people nationwide have their licenses suspended simply because they can’t afford to pay a ticket or fine. Learn more about Legal Aid’s research on this topic in a free community conversation hosted by Cleveland State University's Levin College of Public Affairs and Education on October 17 at 4:00 PM. A panel of experts will discuss the impacts of debt-related driver's license suspensions and potential policy reforms to address this issue. Register for this free event.
