CLEVELAND - The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland believes the city's response in dealing with potential lead paint poisoning issues is not nearly fast enough to keep young children safe.

Legal Aid Managing Attorney Abigail Staudt told News 5, the city's effort to abate the lead paint hazard at 340 homes is really just a band-aid.

Legal aid believes 60,000 to 80,000 pre-1978 homes and rental units may have some form of lead paint contamination, potentially putting thousands of young children at risk for brain damage.
