The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland was recently named a Cy Pres Award recipient along with Community Legal Aid in Akron. Unclaimed funds from the class action lawsuit Taylor v. First Resolution Investment Corp. resulted in the award. The residual funds were awarded to the Legal Aid Society and Community Legal Aid at the request of attorneys Jim Burke and John Horrigan who won the case. These funds will go towards ensuring equal access to justice for families in Northeast Ohio.
