Tonya Whitsett, Managing Attorney of Legal Aid's Family Practice Group, was recently reappointed to the Ohio Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Children and Families.
The Advisory Committee on Children and Families was established to provide advice on issues involving children and families in the courts of Ohio. The Committee reviews and makes recommendations on such topics as domestic violence, guardians ad litem, domestic relations, and juvenile matters.
Tonya uses her experience in family law to serve Legal Aid clients and others in the community. In addition to the Ohio Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Children and Families, she serves on the Family Law Reform Implementation Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on Adult Guardianships, the planning team for the statewide Legal Aid Family Law Task Force, and is a member of the Lorain County Domestic Violence Task Force.
Tonya is a graduate of Cleveland State University College of Law (formerly Cleveland-Marshall College of Law) and received her B.A. from The College of Wooster. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and Ohio State Bar Association.
