Helping Justice Involved Clients under Ohio’s New Expungement & Record Sealing Law
This training will help providers who serve justice involved individuals address barriers created by their past criminal justice involvement. Presenters will explain:
- changes to Ohio law that expand who is eligible to expunge and seal their criminal records;
- the difference between expungement and sealing;
- and benefits now available through expungement that were not available under Ohio's old record sealing laws.
The training will further explain options for how clients can apply on their own using online tools for expungement/sealing, and options for how to get help with those applications from various organizations and agencies.
