Medicaid recipients who lost coverage between January 1, 2015 and March 31, 2015 as a result of Ohio’s flawed renewal process will now be reinstated pursuant to a settlement agreement reached May 11, 2015 in the lawsuit Homewood v. McCarthy.  The individuals affected by the agreement can expect to receive a letter from the Department in early June to inform them that their coverage will be reinstated.  In the meantime, individuals who have lost coverage can contact their local County Department of Job and Family Services to request reinstatement.

The agreement also improves the renewal process going forward and requires the Department to provide translation and interpretation for limited English proficient individuals. See the full press release by clicking here.
