Legal Aid providing free eviction help
An attorney by your side in eviction court can help preserve housing, get rental assistance, and negotiate with a landlord. If you know someone in need, encourage them to visit lasclev.org/contact to apply for help 24/7 online or call 888-817-8777 to get help.
Free Tax Help
There is still time to file taxes – the deadline this year is May 17! Legal Aid works with several free tax preparation programs across our service area:
- In Cuyahoga, contact the Cuyahoga EITC Coalition at refundohio.org or lasclev.org/contact
- In Lake, call 2-1-1 to schedule an appointment or visit lclifeline.org for more information.
- In Lorain, call 2-1-1 to schedule an appointment or visit loraincountyfreetaxprep.org for more information.
- All other communities, visit this IRS page.
Cleveland Consent Decree: Community Conversation
Wednesday, May 12th @ 6:00 p.m.
United Way of Greater Cleveland and the Cleveland Branch of the NAACP will discuss the Cleveland Consent Decree and its impact on police reform.
