Legal Aid attorney elected to the board of Northwest Neighborhoods

Catherine Donnelly, Senior Attorney in Legal Aid's Community Engagement Practice Group, has been elected to fill a special director seat as a Legal Aid representative on Northwest Neighborhood CDC’s Board of Directors.

At Legal Aid, Catherine handles group representation cases and cases related to the Legal Center for Entrepreneurs with Low-Income. Prior to joining Legal Aid, Catherine represented nonprofit and small business clients with an emphasis on community economic development projects. Before law school, Catherine worked as a community organizer and with food insecurity services.

Catherine was named Volunteer of the Year for the Women's Business Center of Greater Cleveland in 2019 and for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association in 2020. She graduated summa cum laude from Cleveland State University and earned a B.A. with honors from Oberlin College. She is a 1999 graduate of Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland and served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps-Midwest.

Northwest Neighborhoods provides comprehensive community development services to residents in the Cudell, Detroit Shoreway and Edgewater neighborhoods of Cleveland, Ohio. The organization provides community involvement, safety, housing, economic development, marketing, and events services to a diverse community of nearly 28,000 residents living on Cleveland’s west side.
