Jennifer Kinsley, Esq., was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Lorain County chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families.
NAMI Lorain County helps those who suffer from disabling brain disorders or mental illness by providing sufferers and their loved ones with educational opportunities, support groups, and advocacy in the public arena.
As a Senior Attorney in Legal Aid’s Health and Opportunities Practice Group, Jenn manages the organization’s Medical-Legal Partnership with St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, serving clients who are also patients at the hospital. Many of Jenn's clients are adults with mental illness, and Jenn regularly goes above and beyond the call of duty to assist them as they confront complex challenges. During the coronavirus pandemic, Jenn has supplemented her casework with advocacy on local and statewide committees to protect the rights of the unhoused. She also has made it her mission to increase public awareness of social service agency protocols and procedures in light of social distancing measures and office shutdowns. Jenn is revered by her colleagues, clients, and fellow Northeast Ohioans who know her passion and commitment to justice.
