Katherine Barr Hollingsworth, a Senior Attorney in the Consumer Law Practice at The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, was voted to the Board of Directors at Empowering and Strengthening Ohio's People (ESOP).
ESOP began in 1993 as a small neighborhood organization confronting education and safety issues. Eventually the group took on predatory lending and foreclosure problems and grew into a statewide foreclosure prevention counseling agency. Today ESOP is a non-profit HUD-approved housing and financial counseling agency. Its mission is to foster the economic empowerment of disenfranchised communities through outreach, education and advocacy. ESOP focuses on making home ownership affordable, sustainable and available for more members of our community and enabling low-income seniors to age in place with greater financial stability.
