What Help is Available to Pay for Funeral Expenses When Someone Dies from COVID-19?



The COVID-19 pandemic has caused immense grief and loss for many families. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA,  “helps people before, during and after disasters.”  FEMA is helping people with the financial burden of paying for funerals caused by COVID-19.

If you paid for COVID-19 funeral expenses after January 20, 2020, FEMA may give you financial assistance.

844-684-6333 | TTY: 800-462-7585.  FEMA only accepts applications for this assistance over the phone. . There is no online application.

The COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Line takes calls Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
