Medical-Legal Partnership: Informational Breakfast

In 2017, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in partnership with Legal Aid launched a groundbreaking medical legal partnership pilot program.

Legal Aid attorneys were embedded in the Psychiatric Emergency Department to focus on civil legal issues that present barriers to recovery. Legal Aid attorneys train St. Vincent Charity providers on how to spot legal issues which relate to health. Cases which impact shelter, safety, and economic security are referred to on-site Legal Aid attorneys who are embedded in the medical practice at St. Vincent Charity. Together, medical providers and attorneys work to improve health outcomes beyond patients’ stay or visit at the Medical Center.

Now, two years into the pilot, St. Vincent and Legal Aid are poised to fully implement this program. We have demonstrated the impact and importance of embedding Legal Aid’s services for patients with behavioral health and addiction issues.

Join us on October 30: we want to share more of this good story with you and other distinguished members of the Cleveland legal community.  A complimentary breakfast reception begins at 7:30 am, followed by a short program at 8:00 am.
