In addition to annual operating support, many foundations, law firms and corporations make gifts to Legal Aid to support Legal Aid's practice areas and special programs.

Additionally, for special projects - Legal Aid frequently collaborates with partner agencies and government groups.  Legal Aid often gets grants or sub-grants from collaborators.  Sometimes, such grants are related to a partnership agreement, where Legal Aid handles cases for mutual clients.  While not an exhaustive list, examples of special project funders include:
