In his letter to the editor, David Dawson writes, "Those anxious to qualify for Social Security disability benefits are vulnerable and currently cannot work because they have a medical condition that is expected to last at least one year or result in death. A long wait increases the vulnerability of these individuals and does not result in a fair process for those involved."
