On Friday, November 15, Cuyahoga Community College's Metro Campus will host a "Reinstatement Fee Amnesty Fair" for any Ohio resident who has questions about re-instating a driver's license. On site, attendees can apply for their license reinstatement fees to be waived through the state's amnesty program.

To apply for a waiver, you must provide a screen shot proving you receive SNAP assistance (food stamps). The screen shot must show: Current Status-Active/Current Month/Next Review date /Any authorized representatives.

Contact Ohio's Job and Family Services if you need help with the screen shot or applying for SNAP.

You can also apply for a reduction of fees online, by mail, or in person at a B.M.V. office. If a case or a fine is preventing you from eligibility, the BMV will notify you online instantly or by mail within ten days. You will need to settle all outstanding fines or court obligations to get a reduction.

Of note: Receiving a reduction of fees prevents you from qualifying for a waiver. Therefore, consider applying for the waiver first, before requesting a reduction.

The Nov. 15 event is sponsored by The Cleveland Municipal Court, Earle B. Turner and Ohio House District 12 Representative Juanita Brent.
