Entrepreneurship provides a powerful pathway out of poverty. Unfortunately, for those with low income, starting a business poses many challenges. Low-income entrepreneurs often lack the knowledge, financial resources, and social capital needed to succeed, among other things.
This training is designed for attorneys who want to help individuals with a low income and desire to become business owners achieve success. This training will include:
- the basics of business structures and self-employment,
- business liability for employees and independent contractors, and
- federal tax issues of concern for low-income entrepreneurs
