WOVU 95.9 FM & The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland present: Life & The Law - Conversations About Your Rights. Legal Aid will join Our Voices Today, WOVU's signature community affairs program, for a conversation with host and WOVU Production Director T.C. Lewis.

On July 15, Legal Aid attorney Anastasia Elder sat down with WOVU 95.6 FM to discuss the Right to Counsel Program and how housing law affects families across Northeast Ohio. Anastasia went over the lawful ways an eviction can take place and how Legal Aid can help you communicate with your landlord and stay protected against unlawful evictions. The Right to Counsel Program also connects tenants to resources and organizations that can help with rent, utilities, and more.

Anastasia explained that the CDC Eviction Moratorium, which is due to expire on July 31, 2021, requires an official declaration by the tenants in order to qualify for rental assistance. Regardless of the Eviction Moratorium, a tenant can seek out rental assistance through CHN Housing Partners or call Legal Aid to help guide them through the application process. If you have questions for Legal Aid about eviction or other topics call 216-687-1900 (English) or 216-586-3190 (Spanish).
