Asylum seekers face significant challenges when navigating the U.S. asylum process. This training will guide volunteers through the fundamentals of U.S. asylum law and policy, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to assist asylum seekers in timely completion of their asylum applications. Whether you’re new to asylum law or looking to expand your expertise, this training is designed to provide you with the practical skills to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those seeking refuge.
Topics to be covered include:
- Overview of working with clients who are low income and who are seeking asylum
- Overview of U.S. asylum law and policy
- How to help an asylum seeker complete their application
